Lead Test Automation Engineer (SC Cleared)

Monarch are working with a large government organisation that are recruiting for an SC cleared Lead Test Automation Engineer to assist them on an initial 12 month contract. This position falls inside IR35 and will only require occasional days in the office in the South West. 

The Lead Test Automation Engineer will work across multiple deliver teams, offering guidance, assurance and coordination as well as providing specific technical skills to the teams. 

Some of the responsibilities include: 

• Plan and assure testing work across multiple delivery teams, including external partners.
• Assist teams to design test strategies, helping them select the best test options for a delivery.
• Make significant contributions to test automation - creating and troubleshooting code and creating and updating delivery pipelines.
• Make changes to code bases using multiple languages, for example C#, JavaScript, Python, Java.
• Mentor in testing - promote and inspire others to test better.

The skills required: 
• Broad knowledge of and application of modern software testing principles and patterns.
• Broad range of experience in creation of automated tests in C#, Java or similar language.
• Experience in a range of non-functional testing experience, e.g. performance, security and accessibility testing.
• Experience in providing technical leadership.
• Testing cloud applications
• Azure DevOps
