On consultancy client has a major applications and infrastructure outsource contract with a large NHS trust and currently looking for an experience Lead Solution Architect to run a team of Solution architects who deliver IT technical solution analysis and assistance to the trust-wide healthcare community. On a day-to-day basis this might include validating new software solutions being proposed by a department against overall IT strategies, validating technical requirements to enable existing solution upgrades, supporting projects which are upgrading obsolete solutions, and supporting data privacy work.
With extensive experience of having worked in the NHS previously you will need to do the analysis of the technical specifications for solutions included in the IT work requests against IM&T strategies. This includes working with the assigned person from the end client, solution vendors, and relevant consultancy technical staff (e.g. specialists in server architecture, networks, BI reporting, integration. Working with the cients Data Privacy Officer, departments and vendors to create data privacy impact assessments for relevant IT work requests and raising and managing Change Requests to enable server builds, network connections, etc. Project managing the lifecycle of IT work requests from initial assignment, technical design, authorisation to proceed from TDA, delivery, test support, implementation and project closure as well as organising and hosting regular progress meetings with vendors and trust departments. Assisting with impact assessments for any new or changed services, which may also require commercial input.
You will need a broad understanding of IT solution architecture concepts (e.g. server structures, networking, security) and have the ability to analyse technical requirements and convert this into a solution to be presented at the TDA. Knowledge of the concepts of GDPR is mandatory and any knowledge of MS SQL Server and of health care systems and solutions would be a distinct advantage.
Thie role will only require one day a week on site with the rest being done remotely.
