Monarch IT are working with a centralised government department, who are looking for a Senior User Researcher. They are looking at appoint you over a 6 month contract, with a possible extension, paying up to £650 per day inside IR35. You will be based in London, Manchester or Bristol, depending on you preference. You will be required to work onsite 1/2 days per week.
This position has become available as they are looking to deliver their exciting and ambitious road map for 2022. You will plan and lead user research, build user centred practises, and align user research activities with wider plans to inform service propositions
Role duties:- You will lead on a variety of user research projects to help understand user needs, motivations, mindsets, behaviour and end-to-end journeys.
- Run high quality research projects end-to-end
- Creative in implementing new methods, and approaches as well as seek of best ways to improve research.
- Working alongside various departments and stakeholders within the research process from research scoping, analysis, reporting and ensure learning's are acted upon.
- Produce impacting and actionable insights to inform, guide, design, product, and business decisions.
- Writing detailed documentation and contribute to research register and insight library.
- Looking into new research opportunities and prioritise research effort to what would most impact the department within Gov, in supporting it’s business needs and overall vision.
- Mentoring junior/ mid level user researchers.
- Exceptional research skills
- Understanding around the balance between scrappy and rigour and know when to adopt what approach.
- Experience across desk research, usability testing, interviews, diary studies, comparative studies, contextual inquiry, ethnology, survey and experimental design.
- Experience planning quantitative research
