Monarch are working with a large government organisation that are recruiting for 2 Senior Java Developers to assist them on an initial 3 month contract, inside IR35. The roles can be based in either London, Manchester or Bristol and will be a hybrid of on site and remote working.
You will be working on a large digital transformation programme and be ensuring high qualify code is delivered in line with the programmes goals.
Some of the skills required include:- Have experience in back-end development, with detailed knowledge of Java
- Understand software design principles
- Research and learn new programming tools and techniques
- Have experience of using testing to validate solutions
- Understand agile environments and version control
- Have a strong understanding about web security and accessibility
- Have an awareness of technologies used for web applications, e.g databases, backups, CDNs and search, and of Unix-like operating systems, e.g. Linux and/or Mac OS
- Experience working with queueing technologies like AWS SQS
