Technical Lead, Senior Developer, DevOps, Java, Azure, AWS, Cloud, 


This exciting opportunity has arisen with an international leading client in the Cardiff, they require a Software Development Lead specialising in DevOps delivery and deployment. This person will have the ability to lead an exciting team and be responsible for the technical delivery of their ground breaking projects. This person will work closely with the Senior Delivery Management team and Product Owners to help develop product vision and roadmaps, whilst owning and driving the software technical backlog and roadmaps. This person will work closely with the architecture team and other IT teams to ensure stability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities 

  • This person will apply the DevOps methodologies, bringing both the development and IT processes together to increase speed, efficiency and quality in how they deliver technical solutions to the business
  • Responsible in leading the technical teams that cover deployment/configuration management, release management and technical cutover
  • Working closely and being accountable for the architecture of the deployment pipeline for Delivery
  • Working with the Senior Delivery Managers to define technical and business assurance activities, supporting the transition of software application and associated infrastructure change from development through to production
Key Skills
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery platforms and pipeline
  • A solid technical background, with experience in implementation work ideally within Java development and / or Infrastructure automation
  • Previous Technical Team Lead experience on major programme / project deliverable
  • A thorough grasp of Agile and Lean delivery concepts and methodologies
  • The ability to work in code repository tools such as GitHub and GitLab, code deployment tools such as Jenkins, Nexus or Team City
  • automated deployment, configuration management and application provisioning software such as Ansible
  • Cloud applications and services such as Azure and AWS
  • Spring and Spring boot frameworks experience
  • Microservices and containerisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
