Hardware Asset Management Analyst (Flexible working hours and home working)

We are currently recruiting for a Hardware and Asset Management Analyst to join a market leading global company in Birmingham, 

My client has a large hardware IT asset pool, covering all the typical Configuration Item’s (CI) Laptop, Desktop, Mobile, Tablets, Servers, Switch’s etc.

The role will support the management of these assets and its association to the asset owners.
The role will be responsible for maintaining the CI’s as part of a wider Configuration Management Database. A key responsibility will be strengthening the accuracy of the CI’s and will be required to audit and validate usage in line with policy and processes. The role will work closely with Procurement, Service Towers and Business Partners to run a joint team to develop and implement and maintain the CMDB.


The role is the custodian and guardian of all master copies of hardware assets and documentation CIs registered with asset and configuration management.
  • Proposes and agrees with the Asset and Configuration Manager CIs to be uniquely identified with naming conventions; ensures that developers and configuration system users comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates
  • Liaises with the IT Asset Manager on population of the CMDB in line with polices and processes

What we are looking for
Knowledge, skills & experience
  • Qualified or Strong Experience using Service Delivery methodologies to support Asset Management (ITIL etc).
  • Familiar with; IT Asset Management Principles (ITAM)
  • Extensive experience in a similar role
  • Ability to Create and Implement Process’s to support delivery of the responsibilities
  • Ability to manage customer expectations and any issues that may arise.
  • Experience of senior stakeholder management
  • Relevant ITIL qualifications beyond ‘Foundation’ level (not essential)
  • Relevant IT qualifications in line with role (ITAM)
