Job Description

As the Linux DevOps you will have knowledge in the following requirements:

Role:
  • In depth knowledge of Linux system administration experience
  • Experience running large-scale web applications on modern platforms
  • Monitoring and alerting tools, technologies and best practices using software such as AppDynamics, DataLoop, Pingdom and PagerDuty
  • Solid Scripting and programming skills
  • You'll have working knowledge of any of the well-known configuration management tools - AWS CloudFormation and Ansible for preference!
  • You'll never allow local optimisation to create global degradation.
  • You always want to understand and respond to all customers, internal and external, shortening and amplifying all feedback loops between them and yourself, and embedding knowledge where we need it.
  • You continually want to experiment, learn from your failures and understand that repetition and practice is the prerequisite to mastery. You have an absolute desire to automate any task you perform more than twice.
  • You strive to work with new technology, master it, teach others to use it and make it improve life for everyone.
  • You must be able to demonstrate very good written and verbal communication skills.
All About You:
  • Knowledge of Linux internals (Ubuntu. RHEL, CentOs, etc), networking, storage, monitoring, etc
  • Java application hosting include WebSphere
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services including CloudFormation, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Lambda
  • Continuous Integration with Jenkins
  • Source control with Git/Bitbucket
  • Atlassian Products including JIRA and Confluence
  • Application Performance Management with AppDynamics APM
  • AWS, Cloud Formation, Jenkins, Puppet, Git (edited)
  • Some knowledge of MySQL preferably
  • Linux
