Field Telecoms Engineer / Field Engineer / - Northampton

My client are a UK wide IT services provider with multiple sites across the country, expanding their field services team with an opportunity for a Field Telecoms Engineer to be based out of Northampton! 

You must have a valid UK drivers license to be eligible for this field based role! 

You'll be an experienced telecommunication engineer - ideally with experience working on client sites in the field - with a background in IT network infrastructure across TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, cabling, routers, switches, handsets, telecom equipment and so on! 

You may also have some experience in VPN's, firewalls, VLAN as well as telecomms equipment VoiP, Daisy, Gamma, Xelion - however training is provided within the role.

You'll ideally have a infrastructure / IT support background in the following:

  • Experience in IT telecommunications engineering / telecoms kit. 
  • Sound knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, cabling, routers, switches, handsets etc. 
  • Ideally some prev. work with VPN's, firewalls, VLAN, VoiP, Daisy, Gamma, Xelion etc. - though training is available and skills very cross-transferable. 
  • Comfortable with a field based - 95% travel - role.
