Infrastructure consultant

My Client is looking for an application Infrastructure consultant for a 3 month contract to be based in their Birmingham office. 

The role itself will be to manage the support of Group IT Application Infrastructure and all associated services, taking personal responsibility for service improvement and upgrades of Applications and Infrastructure.

The successful person will manage day-to-day relationships with associated vendors, provide specialist support and guidance in areas of Business analysis, system requirements, best practices, architecture, test and change management.

You will have experience working proficiently with a proven track record in managing medium to large complex requirements/projects, often working with multidisciplinary teams and internal stakeholders. *Initially a 12 month fixed term contract with opportunity to go permanent.
You’ll have a Tenacious, can-do attitude, with rigorous attention to detail. You’ll have Love of multi-tasking – able to move between complex tasks quickly coupled with an intelligent approach to identifying and solving problems, with ability to think laterally.
To perform this role effectively, you will need technical expertise in a range of the following areas:
  • SQL Server and Development
  • Microsoft
  • Server Features and Client Operating Systems
Expertise with providing ongoing Infrastructure and Application Platform Management including the Design, Build, Configuration, Performance Monitoring and Testing, Sizing and Capacity Management, Documentation, Best Practices & Security, Patching, High Availability along with Backups & DR. Solid Understanding of Enterprise Services Support in the following areas:
  • Database
  • Middleware
  • Cloud
  • Applications
Solid understanding and experience of formal Service Delivery approaches in a complex environment; delivering against robust Service Level Agreements and implementing a process of continuous improvement in Service Delivery. Good technical understanding across a range of the following areas:
  • Azure
  • Sitecore
  • SolarWinds
  • VMWare and HyperV
  • IIS
