What the Data Architect will work on 

This public sector organisation are looking for a Data Architect to be responsible for liaison with wider government departments, collaborating within the justice system and other security agencies where applicable to ensure access to information, standards and models is available and understood and the impact upon the work of the national IT standards team understood.

The Data Architect shall also be accountable for:
  • Eliciting, analysing, validating and documenting the data standard requirements.
  • Documenting, evaluating and baselining existing data models and data exchange mechanisms from other government organisations and identify commonality and gaps.
  • Liaising with wider government agencies.
  • Facilitating and running workshops with police representatives, other government body representatives and industry to deliver the data model and exchange standards following the standards process.
  • Working with key stakeholders to ensure the standards meet their needs.
  • Working collaboratively with other project team members, under the direction of the programme lead, to ensure successful completion and publication of the data standards.
 Skills and experience
  • Previous experience of data modelling and managing a data modelling team.
  • Experience of working with numerous government departments.
  • Strong technical capability focusing on
  • Understanding Supplier Technologies offerings
  • Comfortable in analysing applications and their associated taxonomies
  • Experience of designing and implementing with SOA
  • Background of working in structured development environment that includes working with third parties to deliver complex solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of architecture methodologies that can be applied to the production of architectural outputs that create patterns  / standards
  • Understanding web service nomenclature (REST, SOAP etc…)
  • Appreciation of Security Architectures
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings and ideas to different audiences.
  • Experience working in relevant industry/context; Government, Law Enforcement, Public Sector.
